Most Indian lore was passed generation to generation in the oral tradition. Hides and tipi decoration became another source of expression and preservation. This painting combines the symbolism of the robe with the presence of life in the children that are embedded with stories of the past and the seeds of the future.”

“At the beginning of the Yellowstone Waterfall project, I put a limit of 50 paintings. I am nearing the end with only less than 10 left. This is probably the last waterfall painting I will enter into the Buffalo Bill Art Show. Dunanda Falls in the back country of Yellowstone was one of my favorites. A rainbow is formed when sunlight is scattered from raindrops in the eyes of the observer. The colors you see when a rainbow appears are the result of light being split into various individual wavelengths. Water droplets in the atmosphere break sunlight into seven colors. God made a promise and sealed His promise with a rainbow in the sky. God did not promise we will never experience storms, but he has Promised He will be with us during them. In the storms of life we are experiencing today in our world, I chose to title this painting: The Promise.”
